Universal Light Holster: A One-Stop Solution?
You can get holsters that fit specific pistols, or you can get generic holsters that fit a wide variety of pistols. But when you add in a weapon-mounted light? That’s when things get even more complicated. Crucial Concealment says they can change that though, with the new Universal Light Holster.

The new Universal Light Holster is made to handle a wide range of auto-loading pistols, keeping them secure as long as the pistol carries the light the holster was designed for. This is supposed to reduce the hassles of designing holsters that fit both a wide range of pistols and a wide range of lights.
Here’s how Crucial Concealment describes the Universal Light Holster:
“Utilizing our patent pending Retention Shim™, this holster is designed to be quickly configured to fit most pistols provided that it has the model specific weapon light equipped on that pistol. With this, end users can comfortably and confidently carry a variety of different pistols utilizing the same holster. The Universal Light holster is constructed with .093 KYDEX® to enhance the durability of the holster while maintaining a thin, low profile design required for EDC IWB use. The holster features our proprietary COVERT IWB clip which is designed to be used on a variety of clothing styles. The inverted wedge design helps funnel material into the clip when upward force is applied, thus increase holster security and stability during the draw. The small KICKSTAND™ enhances the concealment of the holster by helping to angle the grip of the pistol back to the body.”
The holster is designed for ambidextrous draw, and the user can adjust the holster’s ride height and cant to dial in the perfect carry. Crucial Concealment says it can fit anywhere from an appendix carry to behind-the-back, and the holster’s retention screw can tighten or loosen to get the desired level of retention friction.
Because this holster is designed to fit a specific optic, you should know that the initial models available will fit the Streamlight TLR-7, TLR-1 and TLR-1 HL as well as the Surefire X300 Ultra / Turbo lights. They’re currently all only available for pre-order, with the TLR-7 coming first and the other models in the coming weeks.
MSRP at launch is $69.99. For more info, check out Crucial Concealment’s website here.
