The use of suppressors on duty rifles is being recognized as a safety and performance enhancing tool to ensure officers can accomplish their mission safely and effectively.”

According to KGM’s product page, the KGM R556A2 is a robust suppressor designed to meet and exceed SOCOM specifications for full-auto firing, accuracy, repeatability, sound suppression, and minimal impact on a rifle’s operating system. The R556A2 is said to offer superb sound reduction on 5.56 rifles of every barrel length, including taming 10.5-11.5″ SBRs. The R556A2 is cut to accommodate 6mm cartridges, such as the 6mm ARC. The R556A2 was built to handle M855A1 from barrels as short as 6.5”.

The R556A2 is made out of Inconel and hardened stainless steel, and works with a minimized backpressure design and manages gas flow through the suppressor to ensure minimal disruption to the rifle’s performance. The gas flow is said to be redirected away from the bullet’s flight path to enhance precision. The weight is 19.4 oz (552 g).
