Smith & Wesson Announces The M&P FPC In .40 S&W
The Smith & Wesson M&P FPC 9mm was originally released in 2023, featuring a slim and compact design that makes this unique folding PCC a great candidate for a backpack or truck gun. The M&P FPC is inspired by the Smith & Wesson M&P series, incorporating the same ergonomic grip, trigger, and magazines of the popular handgun. With M&P handguns available in multiple calibers, it is no surprise this easy-to-stow straight blowback PCC is now available in .40 S&W.
The M&P FPC in 40 S&W is an optics-ready 5-lb rifle featuring a folded length of 16 3/8″ and an unfolded length of 30 3/8”. The polymer M-LOK handguard has a Picatinny rail at 12 o’clock and can be folded with the optic mounted. A 16.25” barrel is threaded 9/16-24 with a thread protector included and the stock has storage slots for two spare magazines using a quick-release system.
Like its handgun counterpart, the M&P FPC has a reversible magazine catch for right and left-handed shooters and a flat-face trigger. The ambidextrous charging handle doubles as a retainer when the firearm is folded, keeping it secure until you’re ready to go.
With M&P 40 S&W magazines being relatively common, compatibility with the full-size and compact double-stack pistol magazines is a great convenience. Along those lines, each M&P FPC .40 S&W ships with one 15-round magazine, two 20-round magazines, and a carrying bag. MSRP is is $699.

I love that the FPC easily fits into a backpack when folded and I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one to see if I can get over the plastic fantastic. A .45 ACP version of this might be a great suppressor host and 10mm always warms up my day. What do you guys think of the FPC and where would you like to see this series of PCCs go?
