[SHOT 2025] SIG’ SIG ROMEO8T-AMR and JULIET3T Dynamic Reticle System
A red dot and magnifier is an increasingly popular option for both civilian and duty use offering some significant benefits and flexibility.
Sometimes, however, you need to adjust your reticle settings to get a nice sharp reticle presentation through the magnifier. This has clearly been something SIG Sauer have been thinking about because at this year’s SHOT they unveiled their new dynamic reticle switching magnifier and optic set up.
Taking a SIG ROMEO8T-AMR and a JULIET3T SIG SAUER have developed a system that when the magnifier is flipped the reticle and reticle brightness instantly adjusts.
The result is a crisp reticle when you deploy the magnifier. This is achieved by a magnetic interface. It works using the SIG magnifier mount. When I deployed the magnifier it dropped the reticle brightness preventing blooming.
The ROMEO8T-AMR 1×40 features a 40mm Mangin lens that delivers a sharp 1 MOA dot, night vision capability and is powered by a CR123 battery which reportedly gives a 50,000 hour battery life.
From playing around with the new SIG ROMEO8T-AMR and JULIET3T set up I was impressed by how smooth the adjustments were back and forth when deployed. This could be invaluable in providing a clear, easy to pick up and track sight picture when seconds count.
SIG have tested the mount and optics rigourously, frequently pairing them with their 6.8 SIG LMG (which the US Army selected as the XM250) and with the larger SIG MMG chambered in .338.
SIG SAUER are looking to release the ROMEO8T-AMR and JULIET3T in the early Spring with the red dot priced at $599 while the magnifier’s MSRP is likely to be $299. SIG are also looking to sell the pair as a package for $799.
