[SHOT 2025] Hornady’s New High-Volume Brass Trimmer
Hornady’s new slate of 2025 products was announced a few months back, and they were on display at SHOT Show 2025. The star of the show is the new High Speed 3-in-1 Power Case Trimmer but there were many other interesting products too.

Trimming brass is every reloader’s least favorite part of reloading ammunition. Hornady set out to make it as painless as possible. The powered cutter unit spins at over 2,000 RPM and is quiet, and a chuck assembly holds brass and slides on rails to present that brass to the trimmer. In one pass it trims, chamfers, and deburrs, and with a slight twist, the chuck drops the finished brass into the catcher. It is compatible with cases from .22 to .30 caliber, and they must have a shoulder to headspace against. Hornady includes two collets to hold the brass, each accommodating two common case head sizes.
But the new power trimmer is not the only upcoming product. Hornady’s Aeromatch line of projectiles was on display as well. These bullets are perfect matches to popular competition bullets sold by other brands. If you can’t find your usual 77-grain .224 BTHP or 175-grain .308 BTHP in stock, Aeromatch can be your substitute without changing dope.
The new .338 ARC was also shown loaded in the Hornady Black and Subsonic ammunition lines. This cartridge is something like the .300 Blackout on steroids. It uses a larger diameter bullet to bump up the kinetic energy while staying subsonic, but it also works as a supersonic round. It also fits in standard AR-15 lowers rather than needing an AR-10 receiver like other similar cartridges. Several other manufacturers has 338 ARC guns on display as well so look for this cartridge and associated guns coming soon.
