[SHOT 2025] Aimpoint COA Red Dot Sight and A-CUT Footprint
As we reported earlier, Glock and Aimpoint teamed up to create a new pistol red dot sight called COA and a new pistol reflex sight mounting footprint called A-CUT. The COA is a very light and compact enclosed emitter red dot sight and the A-CUT is a pretty simple and unique mounting system that according to Aimpoint allows the COA to be mounted deeper and more firmly into the slide. At SHOT Show 2025, we had a chance to take a look at the new Aimpoint COA sight and shoot Glock pistols equipped with this sight.

In order to install the COA sight on a slide with the A-CUT footprint, you need to tuck the front extension of the sight under the protrusion in the slide cut, then rotate the sight down and fix everything in place by screwing in the rear iron sight behind the red dot sight. Below you can see how the sight is mounted (shown on a metal bar with the A-CUT footprint machined into it).

Starting from 2026, Aimpoint will be licensing the mounting footprint to other manuafacturers and the COA sights will be available for purchase separately.
