POTD: Shooting the Barrett MRADELR .416 Barrett at 1085 Yards

Photo Of The Day – It’s one thing to write about firearms, it’s another to shoot one. That is very true when it comes to certain firearms most people never ever come close to, like the Barrett MRADELR. I’ve shot the Barrett M107 A1, suppressed and with a Pulsar Thermal riflescope, in .50 BMG and after a visit to Boulder City, Nevada, and the SHOT Show 2025 Industry Day at the Range, I can now add the MRADELR in 416 Barrett to the list – also suppressed.

Below: It was very windy at the time, and cold.

The cartridge is .416 Barrett also known as 10.4×83mm. The trigger is sweet, and once activated the recoil can be described as fairly mild, and came straight into the shoulder without any violent jumping around. The weight of the package, a dry 23.0 lbs (10.4 kg) without suppressor, bipod or scope, helps of course.

Shooting the Barrett MRADELR .416 Barrett in the desert. The very friendly staff from Barrett had been kind to adjust for the wind, so everyone could aim at the center. The performance of the system can only be described as very reliable, with most people setting their first shot on target.

I was told that the target (unknown size, but probably pretty large) was at 1085 yards, which I think is a personal best for me.

Thanks to all the suppliers and the Range Officers that made a sunny but very cold and windy day memorable.
