POTD: K15 LMG and K2C1 – Republic of Korea Marines
Welcome to our Photo Of The Day! Each day, we feature a stunning photograph or two from various firearms around the world. We are back in Pohand, South Korea to look at K2C1 assault rifles and K15 Light Machine Guns. We see the Republic of Korea Marines participating in a simulated amphibious assault as part of exercise Ssang Yong 24, in September 2024.
“ROK and U.S. joint forces participated in the simulated amphibious assault alongside air assault, demonstrating each nation’s capabilities while strengthening interoperability. Exercise SY24 strengthens the Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance through bilateral, joint training, contributing toward combined amphibious capability in defense of the Korean Peninsula.”
It was in 2018 that SNT Motiv started developing the K15 light machine gun (LMG) for the Republic of Korea (RoK) Army, and it is now in use since around 2022.
