POTD: Germany’s Special Forces New Handguns – Walther PDP P14 and P14K

We do way too few pistols in our Photo Of The Day, but today’s contribution from Walther in Germany should keep everyone happy for quite a while. Above you see the Walther P14 PDP (Performance Duty Pistol) in 9×19 mm.

The German special forces, including the KSK (Command Special Forces), KSM (Marine Special Forces), and the Special Forces of the Military Police, have selected the Walther PDP (Performance Duty Pistol) as their new standard issue sidearm. The adapted versions of the PDP are designated as the P14 for the standard model and P14K for the compact model. These pistols will replace no less than the HK P30 and Glock P9A1 previously used by the German military.

The decision followed a rigorous twelve-month tender process. The contract spans seven years and involves equipping these elite units with the PDP for various mission scenarios. The P14 and P14K models have been optimized for military applications, ensuring they meet the specific needs of the German special forces.

Below you can see the original image with the two models opposite each other.

P14 or P14K. Which one would you choose and why? We need your answers in the comments below. You may add that you want it in 10 mm instead, but it won’t take Glock magazines. Danke Sehr!
