POTD: F88 Austeyr In Bayonet Assault Course – True Grit

Welcome to another   Photo Of The Day! Today’s images are a bit odd. Above you see U.S. Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Detren Tate, the company first sergeant of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment (Reinforced), Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3, as he simulates attacking an enemy during a bayonet assault course as a part of the True Grit obstacle course at Combat Training Centre, Tully, QLD, Australia, in June 2024.

The Marines of Fox Co. particiapted in Tully Combat Training Centre’s Regional Warfighter Exercise in order to increase lethality in a jungle environment, further develop interoperability with the Australian Defence Force, and increase readiness for various operations in the Indo-Pacific region. Tate is a native of Arkansas.

Below: U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Austin Dickey, the company commander of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment (Reinforced), Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3, runs towards an objective during a bayonet assault course.

Did you ever do anything similar in your military career?
