Mossberg Expands 590M Series with Professional and Breacher Models

Mossberg has announced two additions to its 590M lineup: the 590M Professional Series Mag-Fed shotguns and the 590M Breacher. Both models use the 590M’s double-stack magazine system, designed for increased capacity.

590M Professional Series Mag-Fed Shotguns

The 590M Professional Series shotguns include Magpul and compact configurations, available with black or orange synthetic furniture. These shotguns feature an 18.5-inch heavy-walled barrel with a cylinder bore, ghost ring rear sights, and fiber optic front sights, all with protective low-profile wings. The optic-ready receiver is compatible with RMSc footprint optics, allowing for easy customization. A Cerakote Tungsten finish provides resistance to corrosion and wear. Users can choose between the Magpul SGA® stock and MOE® forend with M-LOK® slots or a compact stock with a traditional corncob-style forend.

The double-stack magazine system is available in 5-, 10-, 15-, and 20-round capacities. The magazines feature hardened-steel feed lips, over-molded steel ramps, and a self-lubricating polymer body for consistent feeding and durability. The heavy-duty magazine spring ensures reliable performance over time.

590M Breacher Professional Series

Developed from a military contract, the 590M Breacher Professional Series is designed for breaching operations and close-quarters use. It features an 11.5-inch heavy-walled barrel with an integrated stand-off muzzle. The compact design includes Mossberg’s Aftershock bird’s head grip for improved control and reduced recoil. The M-LOK-compatible forend allows for accessory mounting, and the Cerakote Tungsten finish adds durability. A detachable 5-round magazine is standard, with 10-, 15-, and 20-round options available separately.

Both models retain the core features of the 590M platform, including dual extractors, steel-to-steel lockup, twin action bars, an ambidextrous top-mounted safety, and an improved loading port.

These 590M models were previewed at SHOT Show 2024, where Jeremy Stafford of Mossberg discussed their features and applications.
