Maxim Defense Unveils A New QD Suppressor And Flash Hider System
Maxim Defense has announced its new QD Suppressor System, utilizing a proprietary flash hider for quick suppressor attachment and removal. The QD Suppressor and flash hider system are multi-caliber compatible and the suppressor can be disassembled for ease of maintenance and cleaning.
Maxim’s new QD system is available in DSX, DS, and DS-K models. All are full-auto rated, however, barrel length restrictions apply to the DS, and DS-K suppressors with a minimum of 10.3”, while the DSX is clear down to 5.5”. If you don’t need one suppressor per firearm like some of us, the multi-caliber capability will make it easy to use one suppressor across several firearms saving time and money on tax stamps. Patented M-Kore QD technology ensures strength and optimized performance. The new suppressor is also UTM safe and has passed SOCOM’s endurance and destruction tests, demonstrating durability under extreme conditions and heavy use.
The QD and flash hider are CR-DLC coated, a durable and long-term finish that provides resistance to wear, heat, and carbon buildup, making maintenance easier and less frequent. Once the flash hider is installed, the QD attaches and removes quickly, with thicker 1-16th ACME threading to ensure better torque transfer for a secure fit. Maxim says the flash hider functions very effectively when a suppressor is not attached and is available in a 1/2×28 and 5/8×24 thread pitch.
The QD is compatible with multiple muzzle devices, including CGS, giving shooters a choice based on specific needs.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this new suppressor and flash hider system… The QD is the only quick detachable suppressor system on the market that’s fully serviceable and maintainable, giving it a longer lifespan and better performance,” said David Farrell, Vice President of Commercial Sales at Maxim Defense.
The new QD suppressor features a 1.75” diameter and is available in the DS-K model, weighing 18 ounces at 6” in length, or the DS and DSX, both weighing 21 ounces at 7.9” long. It is available with and without the flash hider and with an optional Maxim Defense Hatebrake muzzle device. Color options are also available in black and FDE. MSRP ranges from model and options $1,150 – $1,550.
I would love to check out the QD DSX suppressor on a PDX, which I am told by Maxim Defense it was made specifically for. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
