HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Pistol Grip or Hope It Doesn’t Slip?
Welcome everyone to the 252nd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the four-barrelled Derringer was a Hot Gat.
At this time the original auction has sadly ended, but for you lucky folks who were interested the item has been re-listed. We can only hope that someone will find it in their heart to take this certified hot gat home in the not-so-distant future.
In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom Savage Striker chambered in .308 Winchester. As is tradition, this pistol grip-clad gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $1,650 Current Bid or $2,150 Buy It Now.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Pistol Grip or Hope It Doesn’t Slip?
Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:
“Tell me you have an erectile dysfunction monthly pill membership and a lifted truck without saying it.” – Adam S.“Make sure you get a good arm weld when sighting through that scope” – Matt M.“Looks like a ploy from Big Sports Medicine to sell more wrist braces.” – Cameron H.
Selling this bipod equipped gat is GunBroker seller skessel1, located in Headland AL. Let’s see what they had to say about this bolt-action pistol grip Savage.
Pistol grip “rifles” (yes technically it’s a pistol, but you get what I’m saying) have never been my forte, nor will I ever claim them to be, and to be honest I’m surprised this already has 15 to 20 rounds (claimed) down the barrel. Hunting setups like this remind me of a 3lb 30-06 handed down from past generations with the same box of ammo that’s never been shot. Pro tip grandpa, next time get one that doesn’t suck to shoot.
I love precision shooting, and I’ve done a sizeable amount of hunting over the years. The one thing I refuse to buy is rifles or in this case, a pistol, that sucks to shoot. If I can’t put a box of ammo through it without needing a chiropractor visit I don’t want to own it. But hey, maybe that break is doing work and this is all a gross overreaction. Either way, I wouldn’t want to be in the lane next to this when it’s getting sighted in.
What do you think? Is this portable hand cannon worth it for your next hunting adventure or would you rather have something with a stock or without a bipod instead? As always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
