HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Classic LV or I Just Spat Out My Tea?

Welcome everyone to the 248th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the Gold Glock 17 was just fudd crap.

At this time the original auction is still up; the Golden Glock is up for grabs. We can only hope this Day of the Dead-themed G17 Gen3 sells before the actual Day of the Dead.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at an LV-themed Ruger LCP chambered in 380 Auto. As is tradition, this fashion-forward gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $450 Buy It Now.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Classic LV or I Just Spat Out My Tea?

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“When you can finally upgrade from your Hi-point, but you don’t want to give up your style” – Giorgio O.“I see an accidental discharge at nightclub in this gun’s future” – Rusty S.”When tax returns start hitting bank accounts and gunsmiths start receiving irrational requests.” – Adam S.”This gun is like putting pineapple on pizza. The underlying food is good, but the choice of toppings is so bad that it devalues the pizza in the end. Fudd crap.” – Daniel Y.“Putting pearlescent paint on your Kia doesn’t make it a sports car” – Matt E.

Selling this deeply engraved gat is GunBroker seller Imports123, located in Houston TX. Let’s see what they had to say about this very custom Ruger LCP.

“Ruger LCP Max 380 with Deep Custom LV EngravingRuger LCP Max 380, beautiful deep engraved Louis Vuitton LCP. Custom inside waistband right handed Holster included.Pictures don’t do it justice. Get it while you can, these sell quick. People always message after the sell looking to buy when it’s too late. These are the last ones we have. This has about 50 rounds fired through it.”

Factory Description

“Ruger LCP Max 380 ACP 10+1 Pistol. Featuring a Safe Action Trigger and a Double Action Only (DAO) action. Crafted with a durable polymer frame and a serrated black oxide steel slide. With a barrel length of 2.80 inches and an overall length of 5.17 inches, it strikes the perfect balance between compactness and performance. The Ruger LCP Max comes eqipped with a Tritium Fiber Optic front sight and drift-adjustable rear sight. Additionally, it comes with black nylon grips and includes a magazine, holster, and magazine loader. Weighing just 10.60 ounces, this pistol is lightweight and ergonomic, making it an ideal choice for right-handed shooters.”

The Ruger LCP is quintessentially the ultimate “gun shop buy”. I’ll explain. When first-time gun buyers come into a gun store they’re usually looking for something relatively inexpensive, and are often wowed by small lightweight guns that work for concealed carry. The LCP checks all those boxes.

Look I have no beef with the LCP or any Ruger firearm for that matter. Let’s just not pretend these little single-stack pocket gats are fun to shoot because they’re not. The recoil is snappy and those grips are tiny. You’re gonna need that pinky mag extension, not that it’ll do much, but think of it like your little emotional support pinky extension. Throwing on some LV-themed engraving doesn’t add much, and some might say it’s a detriment.

What do you think? Is this LV-themed Ruger LCP worth it for just $450 or are you better off getting something a little less custom? As always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.

What do you think? Is this engraved LCP a Hot Gat or gaudy modified Fudd Crap? Be sure to let us know in the comments below, and cast your vote to let us know if this Custom LV Themed Ruger LCP Max 380 is a Hot Gat or Fudd Crap:
