Four New Ruger SR1911s – The “Street Edition” Series 2025

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. is expanding its SR1911 “Street Edition” series with four new engraved models. The first “Street Edition” pistol was launched in October 2024 to mark Ruger’s 75th anniversary. These new additions share design elements that tie the series together, with each model representing a different Ruger facility: “1 Lacey Place” in Southport, CT; “411 Sunapee St.” in Newport, NH; “271 Cardwell Rd.” in Mayodan, NC; and “200 Ruger Rd.” in Prescott, Arizona. The production is limited to 500 units per model.

New Products From Ruger @ TFB:

Each pistol has a unique grip color and an engraved street name on the slide. I like the blue grip a lot, and it’s interesting to see how much some added color can affect a pistol’s appearance.

These Commander-style 1911s are chambered in .45 Auto, with a 4.25″ stainless steel barrel and an engraved stainless steel slide featuring the Ruger logo and an American bald eagle. It looks like the engraving should make for a good grip around the slide, but I presume that a lot of these will end up pretty much unused in a collector’s safe. Novak 3-Dot sights provide quick target acquisition, in case you take it to the range for some drills.

Which 1911 is your favorite and why? Could you do with a 9mm, or does it have to be in the original caliber? Or would you rather go for a more modern Ruger RXM?
