CZ Unveils The Shadow 2 Target

CZ fans have another version of the iconic CZ 75 to drool over, the Shadow 2 Target, a package set up specifically for Bullseye matches. Beyond the stellar reputation of the CZ 75, the Shadow 2 series of single-action 9mm pistols are renowned across the shooting community for their ergonomics and accuracy, making them highly regarded amongst competitors. Speaking of competitors, 8-time overall IPSC Handgun World Champion, Eric Grauffel, had a hand in the development of the new CZ Shadow 2 Target, and with 191 IPSC President Medals, I’d say he knows a thing or two about handguns.

The new CZ Shadow 2 Target comes in both 5” and 6” formats, both of which are competition-ready right out of the box with polished and hand-fitted cold hammer-forged barrels, adjustable target sights, improved grip textures, a deeper undercut on the trigger guard, and a five-position adjustable trigger that allows you to set your own personal length of pull.

Earlier this year, our very own James Reeves had the opportunity to preview the Shadow 2 Target at the CZECH Combat 2024 International Tactical Shooting Competition. At that time CZ was still determining whether or not the Shadow 2 Target would make its way to the North American market, releasing the pistol first in Europe with plans to gauge demand in the U.S. While static target shooting is extremely popular overseas, Bullseye shooters stateside have seen a decrease in numbers as Americans test out a variety of other shooting disciplines including optics classes.

Nonetheless, CZ has decided to bring the Shadow 2 Target to American shooters as a Talo dealer’s network exclusive, so you can get your hands on one, if you desire, for an MSRP of $2,599.

I’ve been a big fan of the CZ 75 series for years. Pistols like the SP-01 and the P-01 have always felt really at home in the hand with superb ergonomics and reliability, so much so that the standard models have been good enough that I have yet to venture into Shadow series territory. Have I been missing out? Let me know and tell me what you guys think of the new CZ Shadow 2 Target in the comments below.
