CMMG Unveils The Br47 DISSENT
Just in time for the 10th anniversary of the Mk47, CMMG has announced the Br47 DISSENT, part of the company’s Br Series of DISSENT rifles that provide more traditional ranch rifle-style ergonomics with a modern twist. CMMG says everyone should enjoy the Second Amendment, including Americans behind more restrictive state lines, a notion I wholeheartedly agree with.
The Br Series is available in 5.56 NATO, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 300BLK, 8.6BLK, 9mm, 6.6 Grendel, 350 Legend, 6mm ARC, and 22 ARC, so it was only a matter of time before we would see the platform adapted to 7.62×39. The Br47 is compatible with Remington 870 stocks and ships with a Magpul SGA. The reversible cross-bolt safety is easy to access while maintaining your shooting grip on the Br47, incorporating a ZEROED trigger designed by CMMG and built in conjunction with RISE Armament.
Utilizing CMMG’s patented compact action makes the DISSENT line unique by not requiring a traditional buffer tube, which is what makes the Br Series possible. The lower receiver mates to a DISSENT upper where the reversible forward non-reciprocating side charger and full-length M-Lok free-float handguard will feel familiar with the original DISSENT platform.
For the pièce de résistance, the CMMG Br47 DISSENT uses standard AK47 7.62×39 style magazines and magazine release, a la the Mk47. This gives Eastern Block small arms fans a modern American-made option to run alongside their Kalashnikov-style rifles.
The Br47 will come with a 16.1” or 14.3” pinned and welded barrel configuration and will be available for pre-order on Dec. 17, 2024.
If you have the magazines, plenty of 7.62×39, and fancy a ranch rifle to shoot them with, then the Mk47 might be a unique addition to your collection, and if you live in a ban state (I’m sorry), CMMG is supporting your Second Amendment activities also. Let us know your thoughts on the Mk47 DISSENT in the comments below.
