Galco Thunderclap Now For The SIG Sauer P226
The very first in Galco’s Masterbilt premier-grade holster series, the Thunderclap, is now available for the popular and timeless SIG Sauer P226. The Thunderclap is a perfect companion for everyday carry or that elegant-occasion pistol when Kydex feels out of place. With a unique set of features for a classic leather holster combined with top-quality materials and construction, the Galco Thunderclap is a comfortable and sophisticated option for your P226.
Galco’s Masterbilt series pairs their finest-quality premium leather with the most skillful and experienced craftsmen under their roof. Galco promises the Masterbilt series is the pinnacle of leather holster construction, drying on a solid form so they’re ready to go right from the factory with little or no break-in period necessary. Detailed hand molding and full-grain leather lining make all Masterbilt holsters beautiful and supremely functional.
Constructed of Galco’s finest fully-lined premium steerhide, the Thunderclap’s detailed hand-molding provides secure retention and classic aesthetics. The smooth leather lining increases tactile feedback while drawing your firearm, easing the wear on your handgun’s finish. From look and feel, the refinement of leather lining is practical and what you would expect from a hand-crafted premium holster.
The Thunderclap features a mild forward cant, giving the holster a fast, wrist-locked draw stroke, and the reinforced opening provides an easy return to the holster. The Thunderclap is also relieved at the base of the trigger guard, allowing you to get a full firing grip while the gun is still in the holster. A metal-reinforced tunnel-style belt loop provides all the rigidity you’ll need while carrying and on the draw while the trailing belt slot aids with the concealment of even larger defensive handguns. Lastly, the Galco Thunderclap has a molded sight rail, preventing snags on your draw.
The Thunderclap fits belts up to 1 1/2” wide and is available in black or tan at an MSRP of $249.
I love a good leather holster. Not only for the look and feel but for the snug and comfortable fit. If you have a P226 and only Kydex options to carry it, you may find the Galco Thunderclap a great option for those less tacti-cool occasions, especially when concealing under a jacket.
