POTD: Suppressed Tikka T3x In Spuhr SICS Chassis

Photo Of The Day: The SICS chassis is made by Spuhr, and here it can be seen in one of the configurations I’ve given it over time. It has the new Schmidt & Bender 5-20x PMII in a Spuhr QD mount and an ASE Utra suppressor with a Cole-Tac cover. It’s chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and this Tikka is most likely the most accurate rifle I own as long as I feed it with the right ammunition. That fact, and because I needed a host for the mighty Schmidt & Bender 5-45x that’s what made me go for a higher magnification. The S&B 5-20x is great on semi-autos and DMR.

The SICS comes out of the Spuhr factory in black, so I got it Cerakoted in the same color as the new Swedish AK 24 will have. My Cerakote is only “similar”, as the one the Swedish Army will be using is a protected version, not available for anyone else. As the AK 24s now seem to be shipping in larger numbers, I’m sure this color will be more popular. At least I got to be somewhat first.

The binoculars are thermal only, with a laser rangefinder. The model is Pulsar Merger LRF XP50.

All I really need now is to get the new SICS adjustable bag rider, as I’ve only heard positive things about it. I also need to get myself out to the long-range and do some shooting!

So what’s this image all about? It’s just to show how easily you can break up the lines of a rather large rifle system with camouflage. In this case, it’s a piece of Concamo textile I just put over the system. You can see the coyote suppressor cover stick out on the other side of the stock.
