Savage Introduces The Stance XR Micro 9mm
Savage has released its striker-fired Stance XR Micro 9mm, a new line of handguns built to deliver modern performance in an improved compact everyday carry pistol. Refining the micro pistol into a thin and easily concealable firearm, Savage promises the Stance XR Micro is as functional in use as it is convenient to tuck away.
What’s on top?
The Savage Stance XR Micro is available in multiple configurations that feature matte black nitride stainless steel slides with front and rear serrations and a beveled front for easy reholstering. The slide comes optics-ready using Savage’s Quick Release Optics (QRO) plate making installing and removing optics fast and easy. Choices include standard 3-dot iron sights, night sights, or an optics-equipped model with a Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red dot right out of the box.
What lurks below?
The Stance XR Micro’s polymer frame features a forward Picatinny accessory rail for mounting lights and lasers, an ambidextrous slide catch and magazine release, aggressive surface textures for a firm grip, and a short crisp wide-face trigger with an equally short reset. Savage includes a pair of 18-degree interchangeable backstraps to adjust grip size, a 10-round flush fit magazine, and a 13-round extended magazine. Models are available with and without manual safety, and color options for the frame include black, gray, and FDE.
MSRP for the standard model with or without a manual safety is $469, with night sight models set at $539 and the optics-equipped model at $659.
The micro-compact world has been heating up for a long time with some big competitors. As always, I’d love to know what you guys think of the Savage Stance XR Micro 9mm, its available configurations, and price points. How do you think it will compete? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
